The Italians have found 29 million AZ jabs "stockpiled" in it's Lazio-based bottling plant according to La Stampa - reported by the DExpress.All the EU inspectors have to do now is find another 30million or so hidden away and that's AZ's contract with the EU fulfilled.

I keep saying this about the EU: give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves.On that note, who has seen the latest about a raid on an Italian factory because of "fears" that it supposedly (and incorrectly) contained AstraZeneca vaccines bound for the UK?
ETA: Percy in the post above, obviously.
In yet another "shoot-yourself-in-the-foot" moment for the EU it turns out that the factory was indeed bottling AstraZeneca vaccines.
29 million of them, by all accounts.
But these vaccanes were not to come to the UK.
Oh no.
These were destined for distribution within the EU and for COVAX distribution.
Better still, the vaccines were only for bottling in this Italian plant - they have been made outside the EU!
So much for their "reciprocity" then if 29 million vaccines from an Anglo-Swedish company are being imported into the EU.

Yes I know that most Telegraph content is subscription-only, but there is a free trial period available.
The story is widely-covered too but interestingly this seems to be the only one which quotes AstraZeneca stating that the seized vaccines were in fact manufactured outside the EU.
