That's a typical comment of a Biden hater; they are all the same.

he has been in politics ALL his life and knows them inside out and, IMHO, therein lies the problem with many of our politicians around the world today. They have absolutely no idea of what's going on in the real world at street level with the likes of thee and me. They haven't held a job or real work or earned a living wage for many a year. Take Biden and Pelosi as examples - both career politicians having spent over 40 years each supposedly in "service" to their electorate.

I would like to see a system being put in place that allows someone to stand for election only if they have been gainfully employed for, say 10-15years, in a job other than the law. That way, they will have an understanding of what really goes on outside the political elite.

Some socialist principles are sound. How they are applied and to what extremes they go to is what makes them good or bad. Capitalist principles are similar in that respect. It seems to me that most Western countries run on a mix of socialist and capitalist principles. Countries that go too far in either direction tend not to be pleasant places to live in for the ordinary citizen. You sound like a man who's been brainwashed, Bread; someone has persuaded you to see everything in black and white.

Socialism is black and white. It's principles are the same in every flavour of it.

You can't claim countries having mixed economies are socialist - that is not Socialism.

No it isn't; it comes in a wide variety of shades.

I'm not claiming they are socialist; I am saying that they have socialist elements in their structure. The concept of the welfare state is a socialist principle, and most civilised countries have some form of that.

The end point of socialism is the same every time. How it starts is irrelevant the principles drive it to destruction in every time its been implemented.

If you look at the NHS it is not a pure socialist service, it has many private aspects to it that supports it, the same goes for the welfare state.

I don't hate Biden either.

I don't like him or his policies but I don't hate him.

That's a blanket statement and complete nonsense, Bread.

Yes, Bread, a mix, like I said.
