I don't know much about the GoPro other than our son has one and gets good quality video from it. I was going to get one but wasn't sure how much I'd use it for the money they cost. I got the one linked to below instead.
It seems to work OK for shorter rides. The battery doesn't hold enough charge to record longer rides though. I'd expect better from a GoPro. The quality of the video is pretty good at HD but is lumpy at 4K. I think it's a good camera for the price even so.
I'm looking at the GoPro Hero 5 Mart, looks like they are onto version 9 now, but that is a ridiculous price for what I want , the 5 is a justifiable cost now, I like where you sited yours, very unobtrusive.

It is fixed upside down in fact but it does have an upside down mode to overcome that.
