Thanks longfellow. This was a thread started almost accidentally as explained in my first post. I am always surprised at the thought process that evokes such memories of those times, music I find brings many various emotions to the surface.

Yes, definitely worth remembering. All were part of my life, a few decades ago admittedly but a lot of memories are attached to those years.

Billy Cotton's Bandshow – always reminds me of the roast Sunday dinners at home with my parents.

Russ Conway – he could certainly play a piano. As a non-musical playing person myself it was fascinating to see and hear him and his 'magic fingers'.

Ken Dodd – well who on earth could not smile at least when watching him. As far as I recall there was never a 'nasty' word uttered, it was all just good, clean fun especially for youngsters.

Wakey Wakey! You could hear that coming from every house in our street.I hated it.I wanted top twenty records played not that old person's stuff.
