It was Barack Hussein that in effect reopened hostilities with Russia in order to assist domestic problems and because Russia was confronting terrorist attacks on Syria - that has resulted in modern day Russia having to adopt defensive measures.
Russia could have been one of the Wests greatest allies in the so far not recognised (or realised?) war that we are engaged in today.

If you're suggesting that China and Russia don't have anyone with the push to create companies and jobs you might like to explain the number of Russian oligarchs or the number of Chinese billionaires?
Yes billionaires.
China created a record number last year at 257 giving them a total of 878 billionaires.
(That figure is currently at 1058 and rising apparently.)
That's more than the USA's 659 as of 2020.
You might also like to explain how - if jobs aren't being created - China has such a large middle class and why the Chinese have so much disposable cash in terms of savings etc?
Before the pandemic China saw 155 million outward-bound tourists which is a heck of a lot of spending on holidays.
By comparison the USA saw under 45 million outward-bound tourists in the same year.
