I mean, that poor woman, can you imagine, if she felt the tears coming at his funeral the photographers would love it. There'd be close-ups of her crying in every paper possible.

If she manages to keep control of her emotions, the papers will say the Queen never shed a tear.

For Christ's sake stop stuyding the poor family, and give them some space and privacy.
I think it's disgusting hounding her at a time like this.
Said it all Mupsy. I don't think she will cry if the media are watching, doesn't make her a hard woman, she is programmed like that I reckon. Damned if she did and damned if she doesn't, she couldn't win. I wish I could give her a cuddle. I still feel really sad about it, reminds me of when Diana died.

I feel sorry for the family too but it's nothing like when Diana died.

The Duke died peacefully & Diana died violently. He was old & she was young.

I never saw the Duke show compassion to anybody - Diana was full of it..

He was the Queens rock and I feel so sad for her..
I heard somewhere that he's going to his funeral on the back of a Range Rover!!

Re: Prince Philip Has Died

What exactly is the danger of a pregnant woman flying?

I would have imagined if Megan had come with Harry she would have travelled first class with doctors & specialists in attendance.

I'm wondering if her pregnancy is just an excuse not to come.

Mind you - it's for the best really. if she had come all eyes would have been on her & not the main event!!

Apparently he often showed kindness, I have been listening to some of the stories about what he did.
One man mentioned that it was cold but the hole in his boot, that let cold water in, was his only complaint.
Apparently the Duke found out where the man was staying & what size shoes he wore, and the following morning a pair of wellingtons were delivered to where the man was staying.

On another occasion, when visiting with the queen, he saw 2 little boys crying because they were not close enough to the queen, to give her some flowers.
He told them they could & had them lifted from the crowd so they could go to the queen. Both children had vivid memories of that!

There are lots of lovely stories about his kindness, but sadly we all listen to what the papers said, and small kind acts don't sell papers !

Re: Prince Philip Has Died

Gyles Brandreth knew the man, not just the royal persona.

Tribute from John Major.

Sir John Major on how the Queen will cope with losing her husband

'Prince Philip may physically have gone, but (he) will be in the Queen's mind as clearly as if she were sitting opposite him. She will hear his voice metaphorically in her ear, she will know what he will say in certain circumstances, he will still be there in her memory'.
