34 years ago - Live Aid - Freddie Mercury

Can you believe it is 34 years to the day that Live Aid was staged.

My Freddie absolutely stole the show and I so wish I had been there, a big regret of mine is that I never went to one of his concerts.

Here is Freddie & Queens performance of that day, without doubt the best on the day in my mind. WOW

It was also the one performance that stole the show for me in the movie.
Most if not all in the movie was from the original performance by Freddie.
Fantastic piece of showmanship.

I agree completely. I remember feeling so excited when that scene came on Longy.

My two favourite bands were Queen and The Cars. What a memorable day that was.

Thanks Omah, but the tapes are so old that I fear they would be chewed up.
I did buy the 4xDVD box set which was released a few years ago. Most of the key performances were on that set.
I did enjoy the actual studio talk too (hosted by David Hepworth), but that is mostly unavailable now.

The only band who refused to allow their performance to be shown again on the DVD were Led Zeppelin. They were very disappointed in their set, which they largely blamed on Phil Collins' drumming - he was extremely fatigued from performing both in London and then in Philadelphia, when he flew across a time zone severely jetlagged.
