What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I’ve jumped off a tower and completed a canopy tour - Africa, the land of adventure

A race horse galloped of with me down Newmarket racecourse, I hadn't meant to do that.
I rode The Big Dipper at the Festival Gardens in London, long gone now.
I went Letterboxing on Dartmoor.

Maybe not adventurous to the locals but to me it was at the time. Surfing at Haleiwa on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii when I was in my early thirties. The picture IS NOT of me. !

I pushed the boat out after only 5000 days of life, tethered the vessel 14 days later.

Re: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I've been 150ft down in a submarine in the Caribbean Sea, saw beautiful coloured fish and a shipwreck. Quite an achievement for me as I can't swim and not that keen on deep water!

Also I've held a 3ft alligator in Florida, a wonderful feeling, its belly was so soft and warm.

Another moment I won't forget is actually touching the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt and then realising it was one of the 7 Great Wonders of the World.

Re: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I circumnavigated the globe. I took it in steps and without using any tour groups. I'd fly into a country, sometimes by freighter, stay over for a week to 30 days, and then book my next step. Along the way, I visited: Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Guam, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt and back to Florida. My longest 'stopover' was in the Philippines where I lived for 7 years.

The nicest, most helpful, friendly people I encountered ? Definitely has to be Hong Kong.

The most fun? The Philippines.

The most intellectually stimulating ? Ancient Egypt... by far.

Emigrated as I turned 19 by myself to Australia in 1966 was probably it.
