From a dutch newspaper, but it holds true too for britain. Especially those who go on about britain being the seventh biggest economic nation, this is interesting.

Anyway, since 2005 the Netherlands/UK pays more than it gets, because it is a super rich country. The EU spends part of its budget on the development of poorer countries or regions - that solidarity principle, which the dutch/british do not like to be reminded of, has always been one of the basic principles of the European Union. Due to the expansion with ten new, relatively poor countries in 2004, this calculation is to the disadvantage of the dutch/british.

But who pushed the hardest for that expansion? Exactly, the Netherlands (with the British): because as a trading nation it thought it would benefit. If there is one country that benefits from the internal European market, it is the Netherlands/UK. It is one of the largest investors in many Eastern European countries. In 2008, the Central Planning Bureau calculated that Dutch people earn 1,500 to 2,000 euros per year, per person, from EU trade (the brits orobably more, but donks can tell more). This is not reflected in the European budget, but is a fundamental part of the cost-benefit analysis.

How do you work that one out?

It is exactly what we are going to be doing on leaving and exactly what we have asking and persuading the EU to do for years.

It relates to persons entering a county, not travelling within it?

Not a single one of our returning ISIS fighters got back to the UK by air, all by road and rail.

Erm... not quite.

The UK is the 5th biggest economy in the world and the second biggest net contributor to the EU. Other countries join because they want free money and access to the services that the UK tax payer funds such as free health care, housing, welfare payments etc.

When you take into our net contributions you also need to consider the amounts we put in that are "off book", such as 500M+ for the cohesion fund, millions for African countries in aid (in addition to what we send in foreign aid) and if we stay in we will also be contributing to the EDF (EU Army) around 1.2 billion whether we are part of it or not.

As far as the benefits that the UK get from trade, if you look on the EU Parliamentary web site you will see according to their 2019 scorecard report that the UK is the least integrated with it and therefore benefits the least from it.

When we leave it will be like the economies of at least 8 of the member states all leaving on the same day and if it wasn't for our rebate, the UK would be paying in around 1.5 times that of Germany - the biggest contributor by a country mile.

Political integration has been championed by France and Germany because its mostly in their interest. If you look at our voting record we vetoed just about everything and the biggest national party in the EU Parliament is now the Eurosceptic Brexit Party.

And that is due to the fact that this registration is already effective in air travel.
It was the americans that demanded this registration, against protests from many european countries.

No it's due to the free movement of terrorists across the Schengen area and the Turkish border that the EU said they would pay for but then lied and paid only a third of the amount.

Looks at what's happening there.

That could be the reason Mrs May chose to decimate our police, sneaky.

Two years old but you can see the planning already.

That's why may had army and reservists on stand by for brexit. Direct chain of command to the government. Bet boris has done the same.
