If so.

WTF did it need a helicopter for.... as some have said should have happened.

Could be wrong but to me it was Four young drunks in a car late at night driving badly.
The car was speeding and shot passed the unmarked police car who pursued only for a few seconds before the car crashed apparently.

I have no sympathy they could have killed an innocent person. they got in the car for whatever reason so they knew the risk.
it is the relatives one should feel sorry for

True, but we haven't had to pay for their free lawyers and to keep them in the lap of luxury for a couple of months, learning how to commit yet more crimes from more experienced criminals.
