OMG - that did make me laugh so much! - on returning from Honkers in ' 80 we spent a few months back in the "land of the looking through windows' and introduced our friends to our version of the HK barbecue - the neighbours were rushing out taking their washing in and coughing wildly!! It was then that we realized that we would never ever be permanent natives again - doomed to travel the globe looking for good barbecues!!

Re: Does Barbecuing exit in UK?

Englishman emigrates to the Australian outback. After about 3 weeks his phone rang and the conversation went something like this.
Phone rings

"Hi just heard you are the new neighbour, welcome to Australia.I am your neighbour about 300 miles away so rang to welcome you"

"well thank you we must meet up some time"

"what about next weekend there is a barbie on and you are most welcome to come"

"I would love to, do I have to dress smart for it"

"No need here in Aussie ,just come it what you are comfortable in"

"Shall I get some food for it"

"Na we have loads of food and drink , shrimps and good ol Aussie beer, and what is more you can have as much sex as you like"

"As much sex as I like?how come, will there be many there?"

Aussie "No just you and me"

Someone down the street had a BBQ a few days ago. Heaven knows what they were cooking but it smelled like putrified cowpat!
