how much must it cost for that helicopter to come out. Where I live its a regular occurrence for the cops to be chasing damn speeders and the helicopter is out a lot but to bring it out every time omg the cost doesn't bear thinking of.

They need tougher sentences on these speed freak imbociles

It is an offence to allow knowingly yourself to be carried in a stolen car, its my guess they would know. Also why were they being chased? Had they stopped when the Police put the blues on none of it would have happened.
You suppose a lot.
"They" can't stop the car, only the driver.

Re: Police Chases

No Idea why the unmarked police was chasing this car.

?.... did he have his blue light flashing.

?.. was this just a drunken driver they wanted to stop

If so.

WTF did it need a helicopter for.... as some have said should have happened.

Could be wrong but to me it was Four young drunks in a car late at night driving badly.

The Police helicopter patrols the skies every day, I often see it flying overhead, so its not a question of 'coming out', merely give it co-ordinates on the radio to intercept the car.

A bit like your reply when you state they were probably screaming for the driver to stop.
We all make certain assumptions when we give an opinion and that is all it is, just my opinion. Like you I could just as easily be wrong.

For example, mount a couple of large electro magnets on the front of a police car that can be extended out front by say a couple of feet. Drive right up behind the car that won't stop with them extended and switched on. Clunk, magnets attach. Now police can used their car as a braking car to slow the criminal's car down.

Whether viable or not there must be some kind of similar solution.

The stinger is OK but you need to know where the car is going to be able to deploy it, so not a quick operation. What the police pursuit vehicles really need is a rocket powered grappling hook that smashes through the back window of the suspect car, and can then be dragged back to the pursuit car with an attached winch, in fact thinking about it something like a whale harpoon gun would work a treat...

Re: Police Chases

If these men were breaking the law and died, as a result of not stopping when the police chased them, they have nobody to blame but themselves!

If they had done nothing wrong there was no reason not to stop for the police & if they had done something wrong, they were stupid risking their lives to avoid punishment
