Brushing teeth-- life imitating art or art imitating life?

Film makers have an obsession with including in their finished product one or more scenes of the main characters brushing their teeth. It put's me right off my popcorn.

TV producers are just as bad, especially in reality shows..

So far we have been spared recording of other basic functions, but I'm not holding my breath.

I thought you were going to mention the fact that most of these American film stars all have the same looking teeth. Quite obvious they are not real and then they pick on the British saying we have horrible teeth. At least they are our own

You're so right RJ - noticed the teeth brushing too ....
I guess they've got to fill in the time ......
The others that stand out are 'Ugh - who made this coffee - its awful'
And, when people are most upset - they slide down the wall !

The thing I've yet to see is
Someone tasting the coffee, pulling a face and saying 'God, that's awful - need to brush me teeth'
Brushes his teeth, then slides down the wall !

I suppose if someone splashes out a couple of grand on new ceramic teeth veneers they love to show them off, lots of actors over 30 have veneers on the top front teeth I've noticed, the colour is far too white and the uniformity too perfect, if you look at the side top teeth you will always notice the different colour.
What about the men shaving on TV, obviously no blade in the razor, just sliding through the foam. When I'm shaving I always imagine I am skiing down a slope, helps relieve the monotony of the thing. (I would never have thought there were two "I's" in skiing).

Well you know what I mean, there are not many words with two "I's" following one another, Hawaii is the only other one I can think of, not much skiing going on there.
Of course one can always do that Scottish dance on ice "The Highland Sking"
