Re: Texting

Silly me - never thought of looking for the manual on line. Turns out the magic key is the STAR key! All is well now - thanks everyone for your advice. Normal text has been resumed and I am happy but Nemo (the techy cat) is sulky because has just lost his new toy !

Of course they are Pats, I can do it but TBH I refuse because it's such a bind having to hit the button three or even four times to get the character you want.

And what is the advantage of texts Much quicker to call, any misunderstandings can be explained much better by voice and if they are not answering just leave a message, I really can't see what the big thing is about sending texts.

Many years ago I worked for a mobile phone company (Years before all the general public had access to them) I spent some time in the development labs and some of the engineers thought about adding some kind of written message facility but no one was interested

Re: Texting

I cannot text on a phone, never tried either, certain I would be too slow, phone would time out and I'd only have 2 or 3 words done...texting is for emails. I seldom use my phone either, only got one because my family says I need it if my car quits as I use the roads less traveled and totally unable to walk. ShirleyMarie

If you have to do that then you should take your phone on Antiques Roadshow and get it valued, It might be worth a fortune now.

I text all the time because I don't like talking to people.
