Silly me - never thought of looking for the manual on line. Turns out the magic key is the STAR key! All is well now - thanks everyone for your advice. Normal text has been resumed and I am happy but Nemo (the techy cat) is sulky because has just lost his new toy !

Much quicker to call, any misunderstandings can be explained much better by voice and if they are not answering just leave a message, I really can't see what the big thing is about sending texts.Many years ago I worked for a mobile phone company (Years before all the general public had access to them) I spent some time in the development labs and some of the engineers thought about adding some kind of written message facility but no one was interested

I cannot text on a phone, never tried either, certain I would be too slow, phone would time out and I'd only have 2 or 3 words done...texting is for emails. I seldom use my phone either, only got one because my family says I need it if my car quits as I use the roads less traveled and totally unable to walk. ShirleyMarie
