Re: Frost Danger

We had about 3 degs of frost last night(same to night)

Went down to the allotment and saw a lot of very sorry plants...

Tomatoes plants(dead)

Potatoes(badly damage)

Runner and French beans(mostly dead)

Cumbers(dead)

I had actually covered my more forward potatoes with carpet and still got some minor damage.

One holder was putting in tomatoe plants yesterday

Re: Frost Danger

OMG I am so sorry and you are so far south. We have had frosts but we have been keeping our bedding plants covered. We bought a fleece in B&Q today. So when is it going to get warmer for heaven's sake?

Re: Frost Danger

Sorry to read that Galty. It was bloody cold here last night as well. Luckily apart from a bit of damage to the spuds every thing else is fine as my only tender stuff out yet are the dahlias and I covered them

Re: Frost Danger

I lost some plants I put out to frost and I'm now the proud owner of one of those plastic cover greenhouse things and all the veggies and tender stuff in there but the cold still got in and although it hasn't killed the cucumbers the leaves are looking sad.

Re: Frost Danger

We have just got a couple of those. Thanks for the warning I thought they would be frost proof.
