The Fountain

Here it is folks . . . the hedge at the back of it was pruned severely to make way for it and I had to do a bit of editing to the photo . . . the hedge will grow back again and once I place a rockery with some alpines around it it'll look grand . . . there are two small carp in the pool . . the pool's only 3 X 2 foot and holds 18 gallons.

Oh wow, that is gorgeous, not at all what I'd visualized. Thanks for sharing the pic. I hope you don't have herons around, as they do love carp!! I like the idea of the rockery and alpines.

Re: The Fountain

Been thinking about that rockery . . . how about a drystone dyke either side of the fountain . . it's three foot high, the hedge is seven foot high . . I could maybe build a sloping surround either side of the fountain with some miniature conifers or the like ? . . . or a hanging shrub ? . . . I have a few other ideas . . .

Re: The Fountain

Got some plants in it . . a lily "Mrs Robinson" and two oxygenators . . . the lily was expensive at £20 but they're difficult to propagate.

Re: The Fountain

The canal had some great plants . . just beginning their growth after the winter too . . . a change of plan . . . the pools coming out and tomorrow I'm getting a 100 gallon one . . . the GC is changing the small one . . . the bigger one is 5 X 4 foot and the fountain will be OK with it . . . I'll have to put up a barricade to stop the Rotties swimming in it though.
