Cold night in the gardens

What a cold night last night. Hope everyone's plants survived. I covered things with loads of fleece. They looked OK this morning. It go down to almost 0 degrees in the green house.

I remember gardening in Yorkshire-the end of May was soon enough to put tender stuff out

Never cast a clout till May is out.

Paul, we cover plants every night with a cloth mesh until the middle of June.

Sage advice - my Grandad was also cautious with planting stuff out too early

Hope everything goes OK; unheard of here in this area for such low temps at this time of the year. We set things out May 1st safely.

Re: Cold night in the gardens

It is well worth looking at the forecast on TV at night . . . last night we had a temp of only +3 . . on the top of the cars there was a hint of frost.
