Re: Cars, Pickup Trucks and Trucks
Because truckers have a fetishistic love of their truck tractors. At the truck stop the hierarchy is partly determined by the 'badness' of your tractor.
The nice truck tractors are owned by independents who have good brokers, good routes and good contracts. If they are independent any cool stuff they put on their truck, or if they buy a top of the line Peterbuilt, is all capitalization, so the money they put in it is not taxable. So all those pretty rows of running lights are capitalization. So is their pin striping, flames and their fancy sign on their door (in gold leaf of course). They think the prettier the truck the better the contracts will come to them. You have your minimalists too, a sharp tractor without a bunch of junk on it and a clean simple sign on the door.
There are hauling- freight companies that hire them as an independent.
This is one of the big companies and they will hire you under any condition.

I think these guys run a big Union Jack on their trucks, or Ron English?
