I met a friend in town today for lunch and we sat outside and watched the world go by. It looks like we are going have rain here tonight, better at night than the morning.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

I see we are into the baby frog season here again. Last night had three in the kitchen doorway and this morning there is one in the middle of the dining room! How on earth did he get there? (They are about the size of the top joint of my thumb, so no great problem to deal with).

Church this morning, then to pick up Lexi and village Fete this afternoon. I may be some time.......

I don't what I'd do if I got a baby frog in the kitchen. Raining here today but it looks like its clearing away and I'll go out for a walk later.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

That's amazing how the froglets are coming in Sue. Our pond is right outside the kitchen door but we only see grown up ones and, like Nimby, the cats bring them in.

Nursing a sore hand and head. Yesterday dog walking *something* flew into my hair and got tangled. I put my hand up and it stung it and as I was trying to get it out, head upside down and shaking my hair like a demented demon, it kept stinging my head. I was desperate for someone to come along and help but not a soul around in the fields.

Cloudy but warm still. Gardening I think. Managed a bonfire yesterday as part of the garden revamp cleaning up process.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Would really like to know how the frogs get here - the nearest brook is a good half mile down the road! Of course they could be toads, or rather toadlets, it's hard to tell when they are so small.

Had a walk down the road after lunch with Chris and Lexi and we did our good deed for the day. Found a baby pheasant swimming in the feed bucket for the pony down the road (filled with water from yesterday's downpour). Lexi shoved her nose under Mama pheasant, who took off with a great deal of noise, so we put Lexi on the lead and took her out of the field and I put the baby pheasant down where Mama flew from. Hopefully he'll dry out and be none the worse for wear - and his mum will come back to him. Lexi is now cooling off behind the settee and I'm just going to have a cuppa. DIL has picked up Chris and they are off to watch Dad combining - when he can make up his mind which field to tackle first. Let's hope this weather lasts for a few days to get the harvest in and finished with.

Hope the head is better today Celyn, sounds nasty!
