Not exactly Net Payer prospects are they? I bet the 'Frugal Four' will be getting dry mouths at the prospect.
They will certainly have to dig deep into their pockets to bring the poorest country in Europe - Albania - up to modern standards. Good luck with that! I'm just so glad we are out of it.
Well, we did the same for 20 years to bring the new member UK (then the poor man of europe) up to modern standards. Why wouldn't we do the same for other countries?

The uk had to be bailed out by the IMF because of the failure if socialism and the damage it did to our country. We joined the common market not the EU so stop revising history again

We have been a net contributor since the 1980s and the second biggest in the EU for as long as I can remember.

Now socialism in the EU fails as predicted and your all poor men of europe. The UK isn't part of your bankrupt Marxist ideology anymore ... because it's an epic failure and now you can't balance your next budget.

The biggest joke in Europe is the EU. It's the gift that keeps on giving

Turkey will start making a move soon just watch. It's already been demanding visa free access to the Schengen area and if it doesn't get it, then Turkey will open the floodgates to millions of Syrian refugees entering unchecked.

You joined the EU by signing the maastricht treaty. The UK was so enthusiastic it was one of the first to do so.

Second biggest? After germany, france and italy. That makes you fourth. So no medal.

Privious budget was balanced halfway of december. So we have some months to go. Perhaps, if boris is right, we have a very profitable trade agreement with the UK before then. So no worries son, we will make it out.

Not true. We never joined the EU thats just you revising history again.

And your wrong about net contributors too. Your using diane Abbotts calculator.

Your new budget starts 1st Jan 2021. Good luck ... nobody can afford it. Expect massive austerity measures coming as part of your Green Deal.... Germanys coal fired power stations won't please Von der leyen... they will be punished and you will suffer by having to pay to replace them with renewables.

The border tax will cripple your imports and you will be forced to subsidise your out of work fishermen in Spain, Holland, Denmark and France.

I pity you.

Hi

Well here I am defending Bread.

The UK is the second biggest contributor in terms of money.

It is not the second biggest in terms of cost per head of population.

Some countries benefit hugely whilst not appearing on the radar.

Luxembourg is one.

France is a Country which benefits hugely, the Common Agricultural Policy is designed to subsidise inefficient small French Farms.

Some history for you.

Poland was split after WW2 and huge parts of Eastern Germany became Western Poland.

German Heritage, German Architecture.

That is why Merkel is putting huge amounts of money into Poland via the EU.

At school we were taught that this was achieved by moving polish/german people (millions) to the west (east germany) and millions of ukranians/poles etc to the west (poland).
Architecture yes, heritage, no.
