So far the replies suggest that they are fudging the figures (which seems unlikely) but some replies suggest that they ARE actually doing more testing and that is helping to contain the virus.Some replies suggest because as an entire nation they are more willing to accept orders good or bad they are better at social distancing. This somewhat childish narrative complies with a ww2 (1939-1945) stereotype that some people in the UK still find funny in 2020! I think I will disregard all posters with those views.
If its as easy as just more testing why aren't we in the UK doing more testing like the Germans?
1) Negative tests enable key workers to go back to work
2) Early positive results can save lives
3) Better geographic information helps informed and targeted social distancing measures etc etc.
So why aren't we doing it?

There are probably a lot more infected people walking around here than figures suggest, this would also reflect in the daily increases in the new cases.
