News is so depressing
If you read the news regularly there is a definite pattern emerging - life as we know it is running out.Doom and gloom you say?
I get the horrible feeling some awful atrocities will rear their heads very soon making anything before them seem like a practice run.
Gives me a bad head thinking about it.

I know the feeling Mark, best to try to forget it especially when you can do nothing about it. I think the wiring of the World has got into such a tangle that it cannot be unwoven, so when that happens events have a way of casting out the whole mess and starting over again, I too fear the worst.You have all the ingredients present to start a World war, The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. The end of job protection. No hope for the young. Mini wars all over the globe. Mass refugee and asylum seeker problems. Openly corrupt cocky politicians and lack of any faith in them. The arms industry crying out for governments to buy and use up their great stockpile of expensive weapons, and many more reasons.
As someone here said recently “We’re all doomed”
So you might as well get drunk and have a sing song afore ye go. Cheers!

I'm always on the lookout for some positive news. Perhaps interest rates have gone up and savers are getting a good return on their morey. Perhaps the sort of people I loathe are all beamed up by aliens and vapourised. Perhaps I will win lots of cash and run off and live in a big house with enough garden to justify a ride-on mower. Perhaps.......But you're right - the news is so depressing.
