Re: News is so depressing

I don't read the papers my source of the news is on the radio/TV.
There is do nothing I can do about what is going on in the world anyway, that is what we pay our politicians for sorting out isn't it.

I have had a stressful and hardworking life and having been retired for some years this is 'my time now', the world can get on without me.
So no the news does not depress me, I get on with my quiet life and I let it pass me by .

So do I. I don't really need to know most of what the news channels are trying to tell me. I am starting to wonder whether I need to keep watching the news at all.

Re: News is so depressing

Having had to consult a specialist employment solicitor when we sold our business it cost us over £1000 just to make sure we were doing the business handover legally regarding employees. If we had not we could have been taken to ACAS with a possible fine of up to £750,000.

AS regards short term contracts ,if someone is a temp and works for a company in continuous employment for x number of months, then they have to be put on permanent staff. That is why zero hours came about.

So please don't tell me about employees rights , been there and got the T shirt

Fair enough, I won't tell you then. I always feel sorry for employers.

No, it is exactly the same here. Employers are whingeing as much as employees. They are all trying to get what ever they can from each other.

Absolutely.
I can't fix everything, in fact, most of the time I can't do anything that will make a scrap of difference, so, do I need to be bombarded by all this doom and gloom ?
