Enid Blyton books. Hansell & Gretal. Agatha Christie!! School Friend annuals. Broons, Oor Wullie, annuals

Oh I loved Black Beauty, DM. I cried at the end of it!!

Also, Lassie. Little Women, Jo, Jayne Eyre.

I loved reading and still do!

Also Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan series, and the Mars series: John Carter of Mars, etc. And H. Ryder Haggard: She, and his others. Loved them all ... definitely not girlie books. Just great reads.

..and surely Just William and the Outlaws are boy-type derring-do, with only Violet Elizabeth Bott avaialble to keep the female end up - and she's not a terribly attractive character

My favourites were
Any... Enid Blyton
Mabel Lucy Atwell.. also
Black Beauty
Jane Eyre
Wuthering Heights
But my all time favourite which has stuck in my mind all these years is The Hill of the Red Fox it is a story similar to the 39 steps but is based on the Isle of Skye and the main characture is a small boy it's a lovely story don't know the Author though...

I loved all the "Jill" books by Ruby Ferguson and I still do, but then I love horses.
