Sorry Maureen cheap ice cream is usually cheap because of the poor ingredients it contains like palm oil . For me the addition of anything will not improve the flavour of cheap icecream .I don't eat ice cream very often but when I do I like the real thing made with eggs and cream

Dairy Ice cream is the one to look for because it is the legal definition where the fat content must come from milk fat; no other fat at all is permitted.The fat content for just ice cream can come from vegetable or any other fat.

Come to Australia - cheap ice cream is as good as expensive Ice Cream no need for weasel words like dairy the word is CREAM!Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code - Standard 2.5.6 - Ice Cream
In this Code –
ice cream means a sweet frozen food made from cream or milk products or both, and is generally aerated.
2 Composition
Ice cream must contain no less than –
(a) 100 g/kg of milk fat; and
(b) 168 g/litre of food solids.

Funnily enough I prefer a cheap ice cream. I find any other too sickly for me .Having said that...My very favourite ice cream is McFlurry from Mc Donalds. Never been in a McDonalds or any other fast eating food place but my daughters often bring me a McFlurry.13-09-2014, 07:51 PM

It wasn't ice cream we had tonight, but raspberry sorbet. Absolutely delicious and low fat to. Okay - it was in a Sgroppino Cocktail, but it was so nice. A nice weekend treat
