Re: EU Referendum Result - Your Views

An entirely unexpected thrashing for Cameron, despite overwhelming support from Scotland and a helping hand from Northern Ireland.

I am feeling in shock a win for leave was not what I expected.

I just hope the politicians handle this fantastic opportunity well .

A time for calm discussion.
Though I'm sure Sinn Fein will immediately intensify their push for a united Ireland.

I would feel happier about that happening if Cameron having announced the referendum had taken a neutral stance for the good of all the electorate .

Interesting times ahead, let's hope the politicians take notice and start batting for Britain now, as enthusiastcally as they were batting for the EU. I certainly think we will need a change in leader at the very least.

He was unconditionally and democratically elected so we are stuck with him

Re: EU Referendum Result - Your Views

I haven't stayed up all night to find the results as I had voted and could do no more, but I was pleased to see a "Leave" vote this morning. Some are saying the vote is a punishment for the way our weak politicians have run this country, and I think they may be right. The next few years won't be fun, but lets hope this means that our politicians have now learned that they are voted for, by the public, to run this country for the people. Lets hope this is the first step to making the politicians do the job they were elected to do.... without excuses for not doing so.
