On The Road Again

I am on the move again for a couple of weeks south of the border down Mexico way.

Actually it has been bloody cold the last couple of days, we are talking below 20'C, but you can follow my adventures here:

I love seeing photos of your travels Bruce, the old prison looked rather daunting.

Re: On The Road Again

Excellent! It's always a pleasure to ride along on your adventures, Bruce. You always seem to find appreciation for places that too many people would zoom past these days.

I've noticed that the towns that sprang up before 1900 look very much like our Old West towns, except that there is some influence from the east. Very cool.

That private bathroom setup must feel like a luxury! We don't have many RV parks here that have them.

Hope you have a jacket, but I would think that the sleeping would at least be good with those cooler temps.

Safe travels, and thanks for the tour!

I rarely have an itinerary just a general idea. At the moment it has gone out the window. I was heading for Phillip Island but the cold snap has seen us head east and north to get some warmth. it was 26'C when we arrived at Lake Boga near Swan Hill, a vast improvement on the 19'C of the last couple of days

Nice pictures.
Our Mexicans play Aussie Rules Football (AFL) but they are friendly otherwise.

I did enjoy the ensuite facilities but it cost an extra $10 a night (I think anything over $30 a night is daylight robbery so $40 a night hurt) and they are not that common - the shared facilities are fine especially these days when most caravans have their own shower and toilet so they are only used by the poor people like me.

Re: On The Road Again

Plans have changed again was heading north to Broken Hill but am now travelling south and currently in Ballarat. There has been a change in the weather and Phillip Island is back on the agenda.

Silos at Sea Lake.

The red cliffs at Red Cliffs on the left is NSW on the right Victoria in the middle is the mighty Murray River.

Crossed into NSW to visit the Mildura Holden Motor Museum which had the posh version of my first Holden.

The FB Holden, all Holdens were a bit agricultural but this one fish tailed if the road was even slightly damp but it was sturdy and battered its way along dirt roads.

Re: On The Road Again

I read some where that at one time (1880s?) Ballarat was the wealthiest city in the world certainly the grand buildings seem to bear that out.

Some of the rowing events for the 1956 Olympics were held here. I have visited before but this time I had to take my friend to Sovereign Hill.

Also went on the Gold Mine tour
