My Brilliant Friend

This is a fascinating Italian series about an old lady looking back on her childhood, around the fifties I presume. Beautifully acted by the two young girls in the lead parts. HBO have a stake in it which augers for the good. I've see two parts of six in total. Based on a bestselling novel by an Italian writer. Obviously there are subtitles, but maybe some of you guys are fluent in Italian! Lots of really interesting characters and family members, most of which are struggling to get by. Recommended.

I will look out for that John it is based on an Elena Ferrante novel isn't it.

I have just got some long distance specs and can see the subtitles now .

That's right Meg, it's by that lady. The programme is on Sky Atlantic, which I get on my Now TV Box, as I don't subscribe to any Sky Packages. Just watched number three, magic!
