But until we leave EU law takes precedence so we are out on WTO rules if we don't have a deal by end of October especially as countries are now openly saying they won't allow us another delay.

We really have to jump and sort of out after or we will be in this waiting around period for ever. EU has made it plain their disgust at us so we are just self harming at this point.

Donkeymans, you present the matter as a choice between leavers and remainers. For that you need (another) referendum, not a GE with several parties. Make it binding beforehand. Not by a speech by a politician, who as you constantly state, only lie. No, make it binding by law. In other words, don't make the same mistake as in 2016.

Re: Why so worried?

There was no mistake we were told it was our decision and parliament would implement our decision.
They have failed to do that part but it was not a mistake it has been quite deliberate on their part.

And I may add some have already admitted even if we voted and got 99 percent leave they would still ignore our choice.

So no we don't need an expensive referendum we just need politicians who will do what we have told them to do.

You state this so firmly, I wanted to make sure. I looked up the functions of parliament (see below), but it doesn't say: "go, and do as you are told by the citizens of the UK". Your mps have to think and decide for themselves.

The main functions of the UK Parliament are to:

Check*and challenge the work of the Government (scrutiny)
Make and change laws*(legislation)
Debate the*important issues of the day (debating)*
Check and approve Government spending (budget/taxes)

Unless they give us a referendum where they say it's our choice and they will enact what we decide

Hi

Julie, don't worry about Solasch.

His understanding of the law is often way off the mark.

That is a choice for parliament to make, and they should make it part of the bill.

It is hard for you apparently, to be put in your place, after being wrong. How could you handle that character flaw in your professional capacity?

They signed the referendum document we signed our votes. That is a deal as far as this country is concerned might be different within the EU of course as we all know how democratic they are.

Interesting. The boss of your government talked for 2 years with an EU representative holding commission mandate. Together they wrote a text setting out an agreement, and signed. Does that constitute a deal in your opinion?
