She's a beauty. A "boy's" question: Will she carry the VTOL F35 Lightning? The RAAF bought the land based F35s as the RAN only uses attack helicopters on it's carriers. (Sorry if that's sexist ) Where is Britain being challenged in it's territorial waters at the moment?..(Serious question)

It was a bit of a joke, meaning the Spanish trawlers will have this to deal with if they poach the fish stocks from our territorial waters after Brexit

Anyway - I think the only "true" VTOL aircraft is the still (or was) the Harrier Jump Jet because the F35 (if its the one with the big fan and the weird tail pipe) tend to explode if they take off vertically. Instead they have to take off in a sharp angle.

Maybe they've fixed it ... who knows.

But what a ship that is ... 36 F35s and 4 Helicopters !!! Jeez !

Hi

We have bought the F35B stovl.

We currently only have 17 of them in total and they are not yet being operated off the new carriers.

They are useless for Fisheries Protection.

Yes, but we can fly the Red Arrows up and down, overhead.

A touch of coloured smoke and all will be well!

The carrier will be operational in 2023. By that time the UK has saved enough money (11,2 bn as of next year) to buy a few more.
By that time fishermen have fought their own war. As the saying goes:
If fools ate no*bread,*corn would be cheap.

What war is this ? You have nothing to fight with.

We will just seize your boats and auction them off the Scots.

Hi

Just a point, the UK Parliament will have very little say in fisheries, they are devolved and the English increase in size is not that big at all.

The Scots have a huge increase and their waters are prolific.

It will however seriously impact my wreck fishing trips as many of them are in French Waters.

We will still be importing cod and haddock as we have insufficient of our own.
