Re: Beginner Acrylic Paints.

I would have liked to have been a great artist!
But as you say it's helps if you are dead
However there are great living artists such as David Hockney who has used acriylics, his Trees paintings are amazing,.

Here is some of my artwork with acrylics. I also do watercolours too. The last two are watercolours
I usually give my work away as gifts

Re: Beginner Acrylic Paints.

Muddy (Yay! You are painting again!), Morti, and Bratti, I am truly impressed

You all are very skilled and talented. Paint more! Paint more! We all want to see your work!

Monday's Child and Basser, you will love painting. The one thing I will add is that it takes a while for what is in your head to appear on the canvas. It really does take time and practice. If I was to make any suggestions it would be to watch YouTube videos. There are a lot of little techniques and tricks that you might enjoy.

Re: Beginner Acrylic Paints.

Something that I noticed when I did my last painting. I used acrylic paints but also added some gouache paint which was fine but when I came to seal the painting with matt acrylic varnish, the gouache started to run and smudge; So just something to watch out for if mixing paint types.

Re: Beginner Acrylic Paints.

Thank you all so much for the advice. I really like your work. You are very professional and talented from the work demonstrated here.
Making and painting garden ornaments also sounds good. I have a little coalhouse which if I cleaned out could do this in.

I think that this summer I will definitely have a try with the acrylics.
I need something that will help me relax and calm down plus the feeling I have achieved something.
I was thinking of using my new camera, Ive only taken about 6 photos since I bought it, and then using the photos to work from to give me painting ideas.
Again, thank you all.
