Re: Vertigo

Patsy, that's just what I had in the first instance some years ago, couldn't stand up and sick, the doc was called, I laid flat which helped, doc gave me the magic pill but it was certainly frightening.

Re: Vertigo

Hi Veronica - its the Betahistine 8mg and Metoclopramide 10 mg
They work well as long as you don't dance - etc and don't lie on your back
I've exhausted most pillows still not found the one - so now I change them every two months .......

Re: Vertigo

I have been suffering with this awful giddiness and nausea now for three days. The Doc checked my ears and eyes and my blood pressure and all was ok. He prescribed these Prochlorperazine Tabs which I have been taking three times a day but so far no real improvement. I fly out on holiday in three weeks time. That could be interesting!

Re: Vertigo

I suffered with this condition for 3 weeks EZ. I found the Brandt-Daroff exercise a great help. After 2 days the dizziness had almost completely gone. I am still not 100% but feel a lot better.

Re: Vertigo

Many thanks for your help/advice Patsy and Scot37. I'm going back to the Doc tomorrow if things haven't improved and I'll mention what you both have suggested. I do feel a little better today so I'm hoping it's on the way out.

Re: Vertigo

A quick update friends. Yesterday I had my meds changed from the Prochlorblahdeblah to Betahistine along with a rather unpleasant tasting Peptac Peppermint Liquid...YUK! I have a fasting blood test this morning (longing for a coffee at the moment). But the worrying thing of all is the Doc said I may have to consider cancelling my holiday! Bugger! Bugger! Bugger!
