I am not sure that putting grease on a burn is a good idea!

Vaseline isn't good as its so messy to clean up . Clingfilm is much better and doesn't need to be scraped off. It stops the air and is a sterile dressing

It is better to use just cold water on a minor burn, imo. Obviously on a major one you cover the area with a clean cloth and get help immediately.
