I agree, no way should he be in charge of a car. Seems he pulled out of a side turning onto fast traffic too. So very lucky no one badly hurt.

I don't drive either, but then I never passed a test, so can't. I am 76 too.

Re: Prince Philip hurt in car crash,

Hi

I am so pleased he has been breathalysed.

A Minion has done their Job.

So different to years ago, when it would have not happened.

Decades ago, being told to F**k off by a pissed Royal and nothing happened.

Times are changing, and for the better.

I have highest regard for both Wills and Harry.

They trained locally, took their place in the queue, opened the doors for the oldies, never expected special treatment at all.

So, so, different from their Uncle and Dad, who treated us like crap.

I suspect, by the time most OFFers are 97, cars will be driving themselves.

Re: Prince Philip hurt in car crash,

Prince Philip A149 crash road speed limit 'to be reduced'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-46912556

The speed limit on the stretch of road where the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a car crash is expected to be reduced at a council meeting later.

Norfolk County Council was already due to discuss safety issues on the road before the crash took place.

The authority is expected to lower the maximum speed limit from 60mph to 50mph and approve installing average speed cameras on the road.

There were 40 accidents, five of which were fatal, on the A149, which is the main route to the Norfolk coast, in the six years from 2012-2018.

A council report recommends lowering the maximum speed limit and installing average speed cameras along the road between the Knights Hill roundabout and Snettisham - an idea originally proposed in 2015.

The average speed camera system would cover the A149 from the junction with the A148, about two and a half miles south of the crash scene, to Snettisham, six miles to the north.

Residents have previously raised concerns about a number of junctions along the A149, which is used by more than 15,000 vehicles a day.
Obviously, it's a coincidence but it does seem like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted .....

Hi

Absolutely not, and the car was armoured.

The days of him driving around in his London Cab are long gone.

Far too much of a target.

The Range Rover he was in was the same one he drove POTUS in, Obama and the First Lady.

It is impregnable to IEDs and armour piercing rounds.

It should not have flipped.

Red faces all over the place today.

Re: Prince Philip hurt in car crash,

Hopefully his Range Rover will be sold to a local scrap metal merchant. Cash for the working man, which of course snooty old Phil wasn't.
Ban him for life. Minimum 25 years

Hi

No way it will be sold, too many details of protection to be involved.

It will be stripped, in a secure facility, protection will go to secure landfill, and what is left will be crushed and melted.
