Do You Ever Make Chocolate Krispies/Cornflakes? They Are So Simple To Make!
I made some of these the other day for my daughter to collect for her family. They are so simple to make and usually everyone loves them...
1 oz of butter or margarine,
2 level tablespoons of Golden Syrup or honey,
1 level tablespoon of cocoa powder(sifted) Or you could use Drinking Chocolate.
2 level tablespoons of granulated sugar
7 rounded tablespoons of Cornflakes or Rice Krispies
Place paper bun cases on a tray.
Put butter, or margarine into a saucepan, add the syrup.
Leave over low heat until the butter has melted
Stir in sifted cocoa
Take the saucepan off the heat and add the sugar
Sprinkle in the Cornflakes or Krispies. Stir quickly with a metal spoon until the Cornflakes or Krispies are well coated with the cocoa mixture.
Using two teaspoons, pile the mixture into the paper bun cases.
These are the ones l made. I had to make another lot for collection as they soon get eaten!

I made these a lot for the kids when they were younger! It was better than sweets or cakes (I thought). Haven't made any in years, and now I'm down nostalgia road, I really want some!
Coincidentally the DM showed a similar recipe, of their three ingredients one. Cornflakes, melted chocolate and crunchy peanut butter.
I wouldn’t mind trying either!
Jazzi, I don’t get the Daily Mail. My recipe is out of a Home Management book, l bought from the milkman, years ago!
I also got, The Dairy Book Of Home Cookery but the recipe isn’t in that one.
I think the ones you buy in the Supermarkets are usually made with proper chocolate.

Pixie, l always made them for my children and always for their birthday parties.

Try adding a few small marshmallows in with the treacle instead of the sugar and stir until melted and combined before adding the cornflakes/rice-crispies and a few plump currants.
