The school Gracie goes to only has playgrounds out the back with no access to the public at all. But not all schools are that lucky.
I see your point Julie.

If I were a mum at the school then after this fright, which presumably everyone now knows about, I'd campaign/insist/petition for there ALWAYS to be a member of staff on duty at that unlocked gate.

Or, if that's not possible ( why?) then a rota of volunteers to man it.

After this then things can't possibly stay the same...

I agree thankfully I've no kids there or I predict I'd be in thick of it
