Re: Jigsaws

I enjoy doing jigsaws. For Christmas I received two 1,000 piece ones and a large box containing ten jigsaws, some 500 and some 1,000. So in all twelve puzzles, they should keep me occupied for the foreseeable future.

Re: Jigsaws

I have just been given one that also a 'murder mystery' !

The owner of an antique shop has been murdered - the main suspects are her 2 x nephews and 1 x niece. The only witnesses to the murder were her three Siamese cats. There is a story book with the puzzle, a warning that the picture on the box is not what is on the puzzle and, apparently, there are clues to be found within the 500 piece puzzle!

Should keep me quiet for a while.

Re: Jigsaws

I like doing jigsaws. Not real pieces but using a computer program called 'Brainsbreaker'. This can make a jigsaw out of any photo or picture. The number of pieces can be chosen but this is largely governed by the size of the monitor. 400 pieces is about right on my 22" monitor, depending on the size of the jigsaw picture.

Re: Jigsaws

I don’t do jigsaw puzzles but my mom does. Apparently it’s a great exercise to keep the mind active. It’s something they encourage Alzheimer’s patients to do.

Re: Jigsaws

My husband has just completed these two difficult jigsaws.

The first is the front page of The Times on the day he was born, the second is on the day of our wedding.

Re: Jigsaws

I often visit an old friend of our family, the best friend of my mom's. She's 94, and has a jigsaw puzzle going on her card table in her living room continually. I try to visit her every week, and see a new puzzle almost as often.
Her three girls check in on her everyday, sitting at the puzzle, chatting, and working on them with her. Seeing this, I know she is well cared for as long as the puzzles keep changing.
