Things that go bump in the day.

Sitting here earlier and heard a loud clonk upstairs. On investigation, I found that a cat carrier basket which had been sitting on top of a wardrobe for several months had 'fallen' on the floor. No cats around, no windows open.

The house is still standing so I have no idea what caused it.

Anyone had any similar experiences?

Yes I have had similar things happen on numerous occasions and I think it happens when something has been dislodged but not quite reached a tipping point, then something small like a door opening gives the extra current to topple the item.

It often happens with the dog lead looped around a peg in the hall.

Longy, l am intrigued as to where you were ‘sitting’ when you heard the bump?

It wasn’t on the throne by any chance.... you know the one that has a dangling chain and flushes?!!

Ha ha. No I was on the sofa - on this forum in fact. Like I said, the house is still standing so I couldn't have been on the throne.
