Re: Corn- On- The- Cob

Hello Bruce, I know Mum's Carer cooks the corn on the cob in the microwave with a lid on and a little water and Mum loves it.

Nah, don't fancy all the butter Uncle Joe, hubby is quite a big guy, neither of us want to put on anymore weight than we have to. The occassional treat maybe.

Hubby puts loads of butter on a baked potato, I always tell him off. I don't put butter on anything, I have always had dry bread without any butter on.

Re: Corn- On- The- Cob

I like to use Sweet Corn in Vegetable skewers

I slice it into rings along with mushrooms/onions/courgette/red peppers then put them in a bowl with olive oil/crushed garlic/salt/black pepper and rub it all together before threading onto metal skewers and cooking on a baking tray lined with foil. Turn occasionally.

I could enjoy it every day for a while. It's so good when it's in season.

I've enjoyed reading all of this, but I've always just boiled mine for about 5/8 minutes and they're juicy and tender.
