Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

It was Farmers' Market day today, so we have ultra-lovely food, fresh for the next few days and from the freezer later.
Tonight we have goats cheese and roasted vegetable tarts, which winked at me from a stall, with steamed new potatoes (if necessary) and fresh salad from the allotment; tomorrow is venison steaks with tomato, mushrooms and a couple of home made chips and Sunday lunch will be a loin of lamb joint (don't faint non-Brits - no marijuhana will be smoked; it's just what we call a piece of meat prepared ready for roasting), roast potatoes and carrots and spinach-beet, followed by rhubarb crumble.
It's a wonder I'm not like the end of a house. Fortunately I don't have to work too hard on staying (just) as a size 12

Oven baked f&c tonight - not nearly as nice as from the chippy, but better for us and a lot cheaper too!

Hi Angieh-a barmcake is a type of bread roll but bigger and lighter. Depends on where you live what they are called-some call them muffins or teacakes although here a teacake is like a barmcake with currants in. When my brother and family moved to Derbyshire his OH went shopping for barmcakes and ended up with 6 fruit cakes-can't make a salad sandwich out of them really

Having just rediscovered my mandolin (no not the sort that makes music) I shall be having potato Lyonnais, roast pork and runner beans followed by orange sponge pudding with an orange cream sauce.
