Does anyone know of a way to stop that?

Angel darlin' - I've heard of possum stew, but not sure whether raccoons are edible too. If so, all you need is rifle.

Re: Does Anyone Know How To Keep Varmints Out

People have had problems with stray animals in their gardens and I was surprised to find that you can actually buy big game poo to spread around, this scares off cats for instance if you use lion poo, I would imagine where you are bear poo would do the trick. You can get the stuff from the zoo or in England they actually sell lion poo to keep out cats.

I know they are cute critters but they do do a lot of damage and cause chaos, we lived in a mobile home site in Oregon and they were not afraid in the least and would come right up onto the porch.

Just had a thought. Most wild animals run from us don't they - even some big cats - so...

Re: Does Anyone Know How To Keep Varmints Out

Brilliant idea, you could make a fortune. However, it wouldn't work on cats they aint afraid of nuthin.

My husband used to work for a transport company, his boss was very highly strung, when the jobs were not being delivered and he was getting grief from customers he would go into the garden and urinate, while running up and down.

Whether this did any wild life prevention is a question we never asked but I believe the man was barmy.
