Re: Black Pudding

For just two to three weeks of the year, forests across the northern hemisphere fill with a silent burst of activity as hundreds of litres of sap rise daily up through each mature birch tree in preparation for the spring.

Now companies are tapping into this, quite literally, to produce a drink hailed as the next so-called superfood, or “superdrink” – birch water.

Re: Black Pudding

I love Clonakilty black pudding! I have it sliced and grilled with grilled tomatoes. It is delicious as long as I don't think about what it's made of!!

The "in drink" here at the minute seems to be Almond milk. I have tried it, it was very nice on my cereal,

Re: Black Pudding

Lidl up here in the North have started selling black puddings produced by a local firm and sold under their Hazelmeade Farm brand. They used to sell a `European` version of a black pudding and to be frank, it was bloody awful. The `home-grown` stuff is far superior. I buy their black pudding and cut into three sections - two in the freezer, one in the fridge.

I can also recommend their pork sausages which are at least 85% pork - a far cry from a well-known advertised on TV brand which can't even make it to 50% pork. How they can get away calling it a pork sausage is beyond me.

Nowt better than an English breakfast of bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes complete with the sausages and black pudding. A potato cake or fried slice doesn't go amiss either. Lush.

GALTY

I'm not that keen on black pudding, though I eat it if it's offered.
This company is supposed to be one of the best, and they do mail order

I have a friend who also lives in Rainham, and loves the stuff; he orders it regularly from them

Thank you will give it a try.

To get a decent Black Pudding down this way is hard.

Funny thing is I had to up to Nottingham for a poker tourny a few weeks ago and went for breakfast at a Mexican restaurant and they had the best Black pudding I have ever tasted.
