Re: Sugar In Yoghurt

I will try your recipe Azz but, I get the feeling I'm going to give myself a tummy upset, with my cooking skills!

Re: Sugar In Yoghurt

You will be fine Tess

If you want a fool-proof way, you could always get one of these that will maintain the correct temp for you:

I've got one but don't use it as I prefer to make one big pot instead (less washing )

No, No, No... Boiling milk changes the taste. You only need to heat the milk enough to kill the bacteria already in it.

Doh! Some people! making yoghurt involves heat milk to about 90'C at the beginning of the process.

Pasteurisation means heating the milk to 70(ish)'C so it is hardly relevant. Pasteurisation does not involve boiling. Get your facts right.

Sugar is sugar Azz no matter where it comes from. "Natural Sugar" is the same as any other sugar.

What matters is what you eat that sugar with. Eat it on it's own and you will quickly get fat. Eat it with fibre and you won't get as fat as quickly (depends on your energy usage).

Ideally grow your own fruit to be sure what you are getting but for many of course, space does not permit sadly.
