I would certainly do that, although I have heard that councils try to wriggle out of any responsibility for such damage on the grounds that they have not been informed of the offending pot hole.

For this reason, if is important to report any pot holes, especially if they are particularly large, along with photographs and location details.

My car failed it's MOT yesterday as a result of damaged near side rear suspension arm - this on a vehicle which barely four years old and low mileage. You can't convince me that the damage was done by anything other than the massive potholes and numerous speed bumps around here. Luckily, the repair was done under warranty

That's interesting.

A car that has just failed its MoT, yet repairs were done under warranty. Who supplied the warranty? I'd have thought that whoever it was would say "no chance, claim from the council"! How did you swing that?

Yes, that confirms just how important it is to report potholes so that the council can't wriggle out of its responsibilities.
