camera insurance updated

I decided to add on to my camera insurance policy the new Sony Camcorder. At the moment the total insurance cover is more than the total amount of gear. Yes I know but having just added this item to the policy only cost me £7.50 in admin fees. I would rather be over insured than under . Having made 2 claims fairly recently there has been absolutely no question of the cameras not being repaired under my policy. the cost of the repairs I think well outweigh the annual insurance costs.
one thing i don't understand is I can insure a car for about the same more or less as for the amount as the camera equipment. Doesn't make sense to me considering the value of a car against that of a camera
