Boris Johnson urged to fire adviser who has voiced support for eugenics

The latest development in our brave new world of politics. Do you think it's ok to keep this chap on in spite of his extreme views, or should he be fired as is being requested by Tory MPs?

"London (CNN)British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing calls to fire an adviser who has previously suggested that black Americans have lower IQs than white Americans and has voiced support for compulsory contraception to prevent a "permanent underclass."

Andrew Sabisky, a 27-year-old self-described "superforecaster" was hired by Johnson's most senior adviser, Dominic Cummings, who advertised earlier this year for "weirdos and misfits with odd skills" to work alongside him.
Critics of the appointment singled out comments made by Sabisky in support of eugenics and giving children mind-enhancing drugs for their educational benefits. "From a societal perspective the benefits of giving everyone modafinil once a week are probably worth a dead kid once a year," he said in a 2016 interview."

In other words - come back Adolf Hitler, all is forgiven?
Has barmy Boris finally lost his last brain cell?

Another shit-stirring item raking up someone's foolish comments from years ago. Who's to say he shares those opinions today?

Any real difference between this hounding by the media and that of Caroline Flack? In any case, you will be pleased to hear that he's resigned. Hounded out of office according to the latest news.

This situation seems to be representative of a growing Tory party dissatisfaction with the changes being put into place without going through due process. How difficult can it be to do background checks on such high profile workers? For example how would you feel about this had the views been sympathetic to extremist ISIS terrorism?

If this man is being hounded out due to comments he made in the past then why wasn't the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn due to comments he made in his past that shows he supported the IRA?

He was, but he just didn't resign.

Not by his own party he wasn't. The people calling him to resign where Conservative MP's with a very very small number of Labour MP's. Unlike Boris's adviser who has had a huge number of Tory MP's calling for him to resign.

It's not a comparable situation. It's not as though an advisor on a short term contract will have the same status or loyalty as an elected party leader. Just to be clear that I am not a corby fan in any way shape or form.

Whatever happened to the freedom of expression, thought and speech we are all quick to defend? Are we now reduced by the woke brigade to being fired or forced to resign for the sake of an opinion given years ago. If so then we could lose half the government, in fact I go so far to say that there wouldn't be anyone left in the country to govern or advise. As usual it was mealy mouthed, double standards Labour and Liberal MPs who called for his sacking. Probably in an attempt to make themselves relevant again.
