Hi

Assad ran a secular country, one of the most stable in the Middle East.

He was as hard as nails on the Extremist Muslims.

Lesson to be learnt, do not interfere with other Countries.

Hi

He was not beaten.

No need for a war in Syria at all.

It was all about the USA not wanting Russia to have a warm water Port there.

The USA has not suffered one jot or Iota because of this, Europe has.

We did not have this flood of refugees before the USA backed the Syrian Insurgents.

Trump has now left them rot, causing us even more problems.

As regards Libya, another huge source of refugees flooding into Europe, that was entirely down to Cameron.

Assad is standing firm against islamic terrorists who are fighting to take down a president who we should be supporting, not condemning. He and his government were democratically elected and Syria is facing an invasion and doing what must be done to protect their country.

Those "refugees" are mostly terrorists and their human shield families who are being driven out of Syria, if they were not and were just ordinary people caught up in the war they would have GTFO of the battlegrounds YEARS ago.

All that was needed for peace in Syria was for the islamic invaders to have returned to their home countries and the Syrian "rebels" to have stopped the attacks against the legitimate and democratically elected government. Peace would have resulted in a matter of a few weeks.

Assad is the best of a VERY bad bunch in that region.

Hi

We disagree on so many things.

On this one, we are both in agreement.

I also have to agree and also with Swimmy.

Erdogan has backed the rebels, and is backing the terrorists, militants, and including al Nusra (branch of Al Qaeda ) plus many more. They are the ones he is using in Idlib Province, and had it not been for him allowing all of them plus ISIS across the border into Syria originally, none of this would have happened.
Like any other elected leader of a country, Assad is trying to rid his country of the terrorists .
The tragic story told by Sky News last week, was all boloney. Yet again a one sided half baked report that didn't tell the truth.
The Syrians moving to the border are the families of the terrorists. When East Ghouta, Douma, and other places were liberated Assad gave them the opportunity to put down their arms. They chose not to do that and moved on eventually to Idlib. In Sky News report , it said many were making their way to Afrin... well, Afrin is the new place for the terrorists, and they could have gone to Latakia were there is no trouble and where the children are going to school, and all refugees in the camps are getting free medical assistance provided by Assad .
Now we have Erdogan using the refugees as pawns in a political move to get backing from the EU.
NATO are being dicks and they can't do anything without major conflict in the region .
It was only about a year ago Assad called for the Syrian refugees to return to their homeland, but someone stopped them. (not sure if it was Turkey, Libya or US.)
It was Turkey that forced closure of all the factories in Aleppo , and then proceeded to remove all the machinery by military trucks across the border, leaving Aleppo without any industry.
Who was responsible for burning down the harvest of crops in northern SYria last year, after years of drought and the best harvest for a long time. There to feed the starving millions within Syria. I'll give one guess !
There is a huge amount of untruths that have been told about Assad, and the UK media are as guilty as the rest. How can the West switch sides now after all that the propaganda machine has despatched into our homes ?
Sorry, but I jump up and down on a daily basis with rage over all of this .

Assad was beaten by his own people who were driven by him to
resort to violence in order to achieve reforms they were unable to
achieve by democratic means?
Assad had been constricted to half of Damascus and darent leave
the palace! Then he snuck off to Russia with the results we see
now!
He is a total arsehole who would rather destroy his entire country
than give up power?
