The majority of Scots don't want to leave the UK.
Scotland could not financially survive as an independent nation.
The EU don't want another lame duck now that they've lost their biggest cash cow.

Scotland could not exist in anyway like it it does at present as an independent country. It is totally dependant on being part of the UK and the excessive mostly English tax payers money it gets.Because independence should be complete independence up to and including a hard border even to the requirement for passport to pass between the two entirely seperate countries.
