According to this opinion piece, the Covid-19 pandemic could be a good excuse to stop sending aid to countries that neither need, nor deserve it. Would be good step IMO as the money would be better spent at home.
Was just discussing that with my husband this morning, Judd. Better to try to help ourselves than send money to India to help them with their space programme.
While I agree that the foreign aid budget is far, far too high, I'm reluctant to believe a word of that opinion piece posted by Judd simply because it was published by Russia Today.

Conversely, you will see news on RT and other news channels that you would never see on the BBC. No mention of the recent riots and clashes in France for example.

I don't doubt that for one minute Judd. I still watch TG1 and TG3 TV news from Italy occasionally to try and keep my knowledge of the language up.
