Don't you mean non-venomous?

A herpetologist friend of ours told us that ALL snakes are venomous to greater or lesser degrees. Grass snakes are at the bottom end of the venomous scale as far as most of us humans reacting to their bites are concerned.

Re: I have never seen...

I haven't seen a snake....but the odd thing is, that I have seen more wildlife in and around town, than I ever did while living in the countryside. Here in town I have seen foxes, all manner of birdlife, deer, hedgehogs...yet up North, I saw one hare and that was it!

Re: I have never seen...

Carol, l have seen, a badger, grass snakes and moles in my garden!

The badger, l have only ever seen once.

I saw a grass snake under a load of grass cuttings. I also saw one grass snake that was tangled up in the netting at the base of my Runner beans about six years ago.
I had to ask a friend to get it out as it was dead. It was about 36” long.
I did have pics on my other computer.

Moles are regular in my garden. I did see a dead one that maybe some animal had dug up and left it on the lawn.
I have molehills here at the moment, l used to just flatten the mounds of earth but a gardener told me, she shovels up the fine earth and uses it for planting stuff in pots.

Not a snake but very cute - from my garden.

They're called a Blue Tongue Lizard I think it continues the Australian naming tradition like Red Bellied Black Snake or Brown Snake
